Hi, I'm Kat,
I was born and raised in Austin,TX. My yoga journey started about 18 years ago when I took my first yoga class. Originally, I started practicing yoga as a way to improve my flexibility and supplement my fitness routine. Soon I realized that I had gained so much more than flexibility, I had gained a deep connection along with an understanding of my body that reminded with me well off my mat. Upon this realization I was hooked on practicing yoga. I continued my yoga exploration learning many different styles of yoga as well as the yogic philosophy.
In 2011 with the encouragement and support of Dixie, I began to teach yoga. I quickly began to discover that I thoroughly enjoyed encouraging others to discover and/or deepen their personal practices.
"Expect a yoga class that is fun, at times challenging, breath centered, free of judgement and competition with an eclectic arrangement of poses. I look forward to being a part of your yoga journey....see you in class!" Kat

Hi, I'm Christine, aka Ze German,
I was born and raised in Germany and having fun is what I do best. I've always been very active and outdoorsy. In my family, walking and bicycling were part of our daily lives and it was normal for us to hike 15+ miles on a Sunday.
In 1995 I left my homeland to start a new life on South Padre Island, TX with my husband and, back then, one year old daughter. After 4 years of simple living on the beach, we were ready to join the “real world” again and moved to Austin, TX in Spring of 1999.
I started practicing vinyasa yoga in 2002. I was so happy when I found Dixie at Your Yoga, as I always felt a bit out of place in other studios. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to learn more and, in June of 2013, began my teacher training with YogaFit. I have now completed my 200 hours with special certifications in Yoga for Seniors, Yoga with Props, Prenatal, and Mommy and Baby.
My focus lies on strengthening the stabilizing muscles (core and glutes) and shoulders, as well as improving posture. These are all very important aspects to get us safely through our daily lives.
What you will find in my class is a fun, flowing set with an eclectic music playlist and a German accent. ;)

Hi, I'm Christina,
I have been practicing yoga on and off for over 20 years. I found therapeutic yoga through some health challenges, and not long after became a certified instructor. I am currently enrolled in a program to become a yoga therapist. It is a blessing to lead students to develop awareness of mind, body, and spirit, which translates off the mat to prevent injury, manage stress, and explore the deeper things in life. I enjoy music, language and travel, being a part of a church family, and being a wife and mother of four children.
My classes incorporate breath-centered movement and allow students to find an expression of each posture that works best with their body. I try to relate what we’re doing on the mat to everyday life, and love to share nuggets of wisdom as I learn them myself. - Christina

Hi, I'm Tiffany!
I've lived all over the northeast and Texas so I'm not really "from" anywhere. However, I have lived in Texas the longest. I found yoga while completing my Bachelors in Psychology. I was immediately hooked. Yoga gave me such peace of mind and clarity, that I knew it had to become part of my routine. I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Red Dawg in San Marcos and my 300-hour with Practice Yoga in Austin. My teaching style is vinyasa-based with a focus on strength and flexibility, with some groovy tunes. I believe that mindfulness and meditation are very important for a well-rounded yoga practice. My hobbies include traveling, music festivals, and hanging out with my dogs and boyfriend.
See you on the mat! - Tiffany

Hi y'all! My name is Francelia,
I am a native of Texas and discovered Yoga in 2007 as part of a cross-training exercise and ended up loving how Yoga strengthened me mentally and physically. In 2013, after many years of practice, I received my 200-hour Soul Awakening Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Southtown Yoga Loft in San Antonio, Texas.
After finishing my teacher training, I moved to Oaxaca, Mexico where I practiced Yoga in Spanish, planting the seed to take this practice to my own community. Upon my return to the States in 2016, I moved to Chicago and shortly thereafter found Yoga Now Chicago studio where I received an additional 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate under Amy Beth Treciokas. I am a registered Yoga Teacher throught Yoga Alliance and teach Vinyasa style classes. I also teach Restorative, Meditation, Yoga for Kids, and Bilingual Yoga.
My classes provide a space where people of all shapes and abilities have the opportunity to discover the truth in transition and the sense of lightness they seek in their practice. All of my students from beginners to advanced feel completely comfortable moving at their own pace and ability levels. In my class you will experience creative sequencing, playfulness, and spirituality. I introduce meditation by practicing breath work, synchronizing breath with body movement, stillness and crystal singing bowls.
Outside of the yoga studio, I work as an accountant for a nonprofit organization in Chicago, IL. I also enjoy traveling and spending time with my dog Chicago.

Hi, I'm Sara!
I'm a certified yoga teacher, personal trainer, and holistic health coach. I'm also a writer and a mom. I began teaching yoga in New York City in 2010, receiving my first training from Sonic Yoga in Vinyasa Flow. It was a very spiritual and transformative experience. I was then hired to be a full-time yoga teacher at a Wall Street banking firm. They had less need for spirituality and more need for functional movement cues, so I sought advanced training in embodied anatomy at The Breathing Project. I trained for over 300 hours with Amy Matthews and Leslie Kaminoff, learning everything from the anatomy of the foot (for 19 hours) to where the sacrum got its name. Most importantly, I learned the importance of embodied asana, and how to be a yoga teacher for just about anyone. When I moved to Austin five years ago, none of the local yoga studios wanted to hire me. When I met new people and told them what kind of yoga I teach, they suggested I meet Dixie. That was great advice! We are cut from the same rebellious cloth and I adore the community she has created at Your Yoga.
As a mom, writer, and yoga teacher, I try to be as authentic as possible. I try to meet each person's needs to the best of my abilities, and I'm honest when I don't know the answers. I love questions. I love helping students to become more embodied. If you'd like to learn more about me, my writing, or my life, I'm an open book. Actually, I'm an open blog. I look forward to meeting you, where you are. - Sara

Hi, I'm Kim!
A yogini, mother and lover of life. I began my yogic journey in 2006 when I was searching for balance while working in an extremely stressful position in corporate America. My love of yoga grew as I personal practice provided a powerful way to rejuvenate my energy and nourish myself. A positive experience motivated me to share these meaningful tools with others by becoming a yoga teacher.
I have a Masters in Exercise Science from Texas State University, and completed my 200-hour yoga certification. I have studied and practiced meditation since 2005. I have been teaching corporate, private and public yoga classes and retreats for over twelve years. My passion is bringing life balance to the hectic worlds for my students. I strive to develop programs for the community that provide tools for overall well-being and self-care.
I enjoy teaching Hatha, Hatha Flow and Yin yoga, where students have the opportunity to venture deeper into the mind-body connection. I provide individual adaptations for postures to ensure practicing yoga is accessible and safe for all. - Kim
